Latest Surveys of Singles Reveals New Insights into Austrlalian Single Life
Two recent surveys of Australians singles reveals interesting new insights into the single lives and dating habits of singles in Australia. The Get Hitched poll of 500 singles reported in MX (17/10/08) found that 22% of singles were now searching for potential partners on line. The research said 19% preferred internet dating services because they provide a "low risk and high volume dating scene" . Many singles also reported that meeting people through friends was a popular option.
Meanwhile the What Singles Want survey (MX 24/10/08) found that three out of four singles questioned had been dateless for months blaming "poor quality options with 24% saying a lack of "quality singles" as the reason for their lack of dating activity . However the article also suggests that singles needed to be more proactive when looking for a match, as 22 % of respondents admitted that they did not know where to meet other singles.
